Administrative
Roles:

  • Job Title: Administrative Assistant

    Job Summary:
    The Administrative Assistant will support Park City Opera’s operations, assisting administrative and artistic staff and managing patron services during performances. Ideal candidates are proactive, personable, and detail-oriented, ensuring a positive experience for performers, patrons, and staff.

    Job Timeline & Payment:

    • Part-Time (June 1 - August 25, 2025): ~25 hrs/week

    • Pay: $14-$18 per hour, depending on experience

    Key Responsibilities

    Artist Support

    • Housing Coordination: Address housing logistics and issues for visiting singers, acting as the primary liaison for any related needs or concerns. 

    • Carpool Coordination and Assistance: Arrange carpool schedule and alleviate issues for visiting singers and personally carpool singers when needed.

    • Event Organization: Plan and organize social events such as meet-and-greets, day-off activities, and other company gatherings to foster community and engagement among cast members. Arrange snacks and refreshments for rehearsals and performances, maintaining a welcoming and comfortable environment for artists.

    • Errands: Run errands as needed to support rehearsal and performance requirements, such as purchasing supplies, printing marketing materials, flyering local businesses, or delivering items to the cast and crew.

    Audience and Patron Services

    • Comp Tickets & Box Office: Manage comp ticket requests, liaising with the box office team to facilitate smooth processing of ticket allocations and resolve any ticketing issues.

    • Customer Service: Provide excellent customer service by addressing patron inquiries, assisting with ticket issues, and ensuring a positive audience experience.

    • Usher and Volunteer Coordination: Organize and manage front-of-house staff, including ushers and volunteers, to ensure smooth operations before, during, and after performances.

    • Green Room Preparation: Set up and maintain the green room for performers, ensuring it is equipped and comfortable.

    • Program Production: Collect, edit, and organize program content, including cast bios and headshots, for publication and distribution at performances.

    • Coordinate Front of House Activities: Work with Park City Opera to confirm and communicate with vendors and set-up box office, concessions, and audience activities day-of performances

    Marketing and Communications

    • Photography: Capture photos during rehearsals and other company events for use in marketing materials and social media, providing a behind-the-scenes look at the production process.

  • Job Title: Summer Intern

    Job Summary: Park City Opera is seeking a motivated and creative high school student to join us as our Summer Intern. This paid internship offers hands-on experience in arts administration, marketing, audience engagement, and live performance operations. It’s a great opportunity for a student interested in music, arts management, data science, social media management, or event production.

    Job Timeline & Payment:

    • Contract Period: June 1, 2026 - August 25, 2026

    • Part-Time: ~10 hrs per week (role can be expanded depending on interest)

    • Pay: $350 for summer

    Key Responsibilities

    • Post Park City Opera events on community calendars and local listings

    • Assist with photography at rehearsals, performances, and events

    • Support Front of House operations during performances (ushering, audience assistance, check-in)

    Job Summary: The Front of House Manager oversees all audience-facing operations for Park City Opera, ensuring a welcoming, well-organized, and professional experience for patrons, donors, and community partners. This role includes managing front-of-house activities for mainstage productions as well as curating and overseeing donor and patron experiences at free summer performances, including Park City Opera’s weekly Monday night concerts in partnership with Mountain Town Music.

This ad hoc, part-time role is ideal for a high school student interested in music, theater, or live events who wants hands-on experience behind the scenes. Stage hands will help with moving our electric piano, supporting load-in and load-out for performances, and assisting with set changes during productions.

    Job Timeline & Payment:

    • Part-Time

      • Work is ad hoc and scheduled around performance dates

      • Call times will be communicated at least two weeks in advance

    • Pay: $14 per hour

    Key Responsibilities

    • Safely move and set up an electric piano for rehearsals and performances

The role supports the dramatic narrative, musical structure, and visual aesthetic of the work. Working closely with the director, set designer, costume designer, and conductor, the Lighting Designer will use light to shape atmosphere, focus, and emotional tone and help transform non-traditional spaces into a theatrical experience.

    • Attend rehearsals, technical rehearsals, and performances as required

    • Program and adjust lighting cues during technical and dress rehearsals

The role supports the opera’s narrative, emotional tone, and visual world through the thoughtful use of projected imagery and media. Working closely with the Stage Director, Set Designer, Lighting Designer, and production team, the Projection Designer develops a design that integrates seamlessly with the scenic and lighting environments and is appropriate to the scale, resources, and technical capabilities of the venue.

  • Park City Opera is currently looking for a Costume Designer to join our production team for Roméo et Juliette this summer. 

    Job Title: Costume Designer

    Job Summary: The Costume Designer is responsible for designing and sourcing the costumes for Park City Opera’s production of Charles Gounod’s Roméo et Juliette. The role supports character development and the overall visual cohesion of the production. Working closely with the Stage Director, Set Designer, Lighting Designer, and production team, the Costume Designer develops costumes that enhance storytelling while accommodating the vocal, physical, and practical needs of opera performance.

    Job Timeline & Payment:

    • Roméo et Juliette

      • Design process begins as early as February 2026

      • Tech Week: August 17th-August 20th

      • Performances: August 21st and August 23rd

      • Total Stipend: $900-$1,200 depending on experience 

    Key Responsibilities

    Before Tech Week

    • Develop a costume design concept that reflects the artistic vision and themes of Gounod’s Roméo et Juliette

    • Create costume renderings, research, and documentation as required

    • Collaborate closely with the Stage Director and design team to ensure visual and dramaturgical cohesion

    • Design costumes that support singer comfort, movement, and vocal performance

    • Work within the budgetary and scheduling constraints of a small opera company

    • Source, build, rent, alter, or coordinate acquisition of costumes and accessories as appropriate

    • Oversee fittings, alterations, and final costume preparation for principals, chorus, and dancers

    • Attend staging rehearsals, dress rehearsals, and technical rehearsals as required

    • Coordinate with stage management regarding costume changes, maintenance, and performance needs

    • Address notes and make adjustments throughout the rehearsal and performance process

    Qualifications

    • Sufficient experience in the technical and artistic elements of costume design

    • Familiarity with rehearsal room etiquette and production protocols

    • Ability to work flexible hours, including nights and weekends, as required by the rehearsal and performance schedule

    Preferred Skills

    • Previous work on operatic productions and passion for the medium is a plus

  • Park City Opera is currently looking for a Rehearsal Pianist/Coach to join our production team for Charles Gounod’s Roméo et Juliette in Summer 2026.

    Job Title: Rehearsal Pianist/Coach

    Job Summary:
    The Rehearsal Pianist/Coach is responsible for accompanying staging and musical rehearsals and providing supplemental musical coachings for Park City Opera’s Summer 2026 production of Roméo et Juliette at the Eccles Center. This position plays a central role in supporting the singers, conductor, and stage director throughout the rehearsal and performance process.

    Job Timeline & Payment

    Chorus Rehearsals to begin as early as July 10
    Production Period: August 1 to August 18 (Piano Dress)
    Performances: August 21 and August 23

    Total Stipend: $1500–$2000, depending on experience

    Key Responsibilities

    • Provide piano accompaniment for music rehearsals, staging rehearsals, and other calls as scheduled

    • Collaborate closely with the Conductor, Stage Director, and production team to support musical and dramatic goals

    • Coach principal and/or ensemble singers on rhythm, pitch, diction (French), ensemble, and stylistic considerations as requested

    • Support singers in learning roles and maintaining musical accuracy throughout the rehearsal process

    • Adjust playing to accommodate staging needs, tempi changes, cuts, repeats, and rehearsal pacing

    • Attend rehearsals, production meetings, technical rehearsals, and dress rehearsals as required

    • Maintain clear communication with stage management regarding rehearsal needs, schedules, and musical logistics

    • Be available to take and address musical notes and adjustments throughout rehearsals and performances

    • Other duties as assigned

    Qualifications

    • Strong piano skills with the ability to perform operatic piano reductions fluently

    • Prior experience as a rehearsal pianist and/or vocal coach, particularly in classical or operatic repertoire

    • Strong proficiency in French diction

    • Familiarity with rehearsal room etiquette and standard production protocols

    • Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced, small-company environment

    • Availability for flexible hours, including evenings and weekends, as required by the rehearsal and performance schedule
