Our Initiatives
Park City Opera has two major artistic initiatives:
Mainstage Opera Productions (Winter & Summer)
Concert Series & Events (Year-round)
Our 2026-2027 Mainstage Opera Productions include Mozart’s Die Zauberflöte (The Magic Flute) in January 2027, Donizetti’s Don Pasquale in July 2027, and Verdi’s Falstaff in August 2027.
Our year-round Concert Series includes performances, recitals, lectures and other events hosted in a variety of venues. Many of our Concert Series events are presented in collaboration with other community organizations.
All engagements with Park City Opera are compensated.
We believe in building lasting relationships with artists. Artists who work with Park City Opera join our Artists Collective!
Our 2026-27 Season Auditions are now open!
Park City Opera is now casting for its 2026–2027 programming including our three mainstage operas and our year-round concert series. There are two audition pathways: one for local singers and one for non-local singers. We encourage you to read the FAQs below before applying.

Utah-based singers are welcome to audition for Park City Opera’s season and will be considered for mainstage roles and chorus as well as concert series events.
Local singers are not prescreened and auditions are available on a first-come, first-serve basis on October 9, 2026 in Salt Lake City.

Non-local singers are welcome to apply for roles in our ,mainstage productions including Mozart’s The Magic Flute (January 2027), Donizetti’s Don Pasquale (July 2027) and Verdi’s Falstaff (August 2027).
Click here to apply. The first round application is due on October 25, 2026. Prescreening results will be issued on or before November 9. Live auditions for nonlocal singers will take place on December 12th and 13th, 2026 in Salt Lake City. Virtual auditions will take place via Zoom on December 11th and 14th, 2026.
Singers interested in The Magic Flute (January 10 through February 1 , 2026 production period) should submit their applications as soon as they are able and will receive consideration under an accelerated timeline.
Mainstage compensation varies widely depending on role size, length of contract, and a singer's previous experience. In previous seasons, PCO has compensated most primario/secondario singers $1,250-$2,000 for the duration of a contract.
In addition to roles, mainstage artists may be offered additional performances on Park City Opera's Concert Series Initiative, compensated at $150 per event. Historically, most mainstage artists have received at least two concert series opportunities during their time in Utah.
Housing for non-local singers and a stipend for travel to and from Park City will be provided.

Local singers are defined as those living within a reasonable commuting distance to Park City.
In order to work with Park City Opera on our Concert Series Initiative, you must have a means of transportation to/around Park City and Summit County for rehearsals and performances.
Park City Opera is unable to provide housing or travel reimbursements for local singers participating in concert series events.
More importantly, Park City Opera is committed to hiring local artists with a connection to our community for concert series events. All opportunities are compensated.

There is no fee to apply or audition for Park City Opera. A pianist will be provided to play for your audition at no cost to you. If you prefer, you may bring your own pianist. A $20 deposit is required to reserve an audition time, which will be refunded shortly after you complete your audition.

Park City Opera is a professional opera company looking for artists that are committed to artistic excellence and excited to contribute to the future of opera. For our concert series and mainstage production principal roles, we are looking for artists that are pursuing or have completed graduate studies in classical singing, or comparable training. Undergraduate and amateur singers are also encouraged to audition, for consideration for comprimario, chorus and ensemble positions.

Our Artists Collective includes singers, instrumentalists, and artists hired by Park City Opera. It is built on the following principles:
Community-Centered: We are committed to hiring local artists with a connection to our community, as well as introducing national talent to Park City. In turn, our artists believe in making opera more approachable and play an active role in cultivating a sense of community around our performances.
Lasting Relationships: We believe in rehiring artists. Strong relationships between artists and our organization lead to better, more cohesive performances. When artists are familiar with our culture and expectations, they can deliver their best work.
